Just bought the Last Hundred Yards. I hadn't heard of this. Pretty cheap but a cracking looking game with decent sounding mechanics and the guys over at The Players Aid raved about it.

I keep looking at this one but from some things I read it doesn't play well solo and thats how I usually end up playing most of my games. Let us know what you think.
-
^Same here :-(

I have this and it plays just fine solo. There are a couple of scenarios with hidden units but there are ways around that.
The action - reaction mechanic is a new take on squad level games and there is more Command and Control built in to how the units behave.
Good fun.

So, I've lost track. Is judgedredd or BC leading in new games now? >:D

BC doesn't buy games. They are delivered to him by the angels at no cost.

Well - all mine get opened, punched and clipped. Most get the rules read and most actually get to the table with me...I can't speak for BC

His usually get resold while still in the shrink wrap.

^Those are also called 'review copies'.

Confirming the game exists is an important step in the review process.

The video of you and BC wrestling around in a pile of counters

Whilst I do like the llok of LHY, I do wish there was a greater variety of forces with the game. The very early images of the game from a year or so ago did feature units from the 250th Infantry Division (Spanish 'Blue' Division). A tac game with some UK/commonwealth forces would make a nice change, as well.

That's expansion content ;)

Unfortunately, there have been too many WW2 tac games that have promised expansion and have not delivered. CoH and BoB being two such game systems.
-
I'm rarely interested in WW2 Tac board games. I generally play minis at that level. No lack of systems or armies for that.
-
Yes, you are correct about that.

Thanks. I was curious how that reaction mechanic would work solo but I guess its just make the be decisions possible for both sides still.

I'm pretty handy at making a 2 player game work solo...for the most part.
Hidden units, pre-planned arty strikes and minefields are always a bit of a pain...but I'm fairly reasonable at playing both sides.
