Dang, that's a lot of counters needing to be clipped.

Five sheets worth.

Do you sleeve your cards, Bison? I never got into that,  not because I disagree but because I just don't see a need unless the game is played all the time.

There are charts to laminate

"Conan! What is good in life?"

"To laminate charts, to clip your corners, and to hear the lamentations of Vance!"

I actually don't really like games.

I think I’m on the hook to teach a game to some kids tomorrow and I’m feeling like an area control game. So I’ll either be teaching them El Grande or Kemet. Or since they all have played some MtG, I’ll break out the cube and teach them how to draft and build decks from a seemingly random pool of cards.

Break them out, make some tea, and play some cards with the  missus. Try a few games of Winston draft. It’s a wonderful way to play.

The article is not the best description but it gives you the general idea. There are some good videos on YouTube demonstrating Winston drafting. The best part is as long as you have a small collection of generally equal numbers of cards for each color-you have all the card pool you’ll ever need.

I hope you give it a try. Despite the hate and the justified criticism of expense, MtG is a brilliant game. I played a four player game of commander last night with the kids and my wife. Good times. Typical results dog pile on dad until he’s knocked out of the game. My vampire deck was performing exquisitely until the board wipes and round after round of attrition took their toil.
