^Yes, YES! Take my money and all that. I can't wait to see what Mohawk will be doing with the Old World engine next. I game just like this set in the Renaissance would be godly.

A Renaissance-period 4x would be fantastic, I agree! 

I'd love for someone to put together a series of Civ style games that are stand alone, or can be linked, so you move your game from one era to another.  That way you can continue to grow you empire, but each era game would be designed to before that era, and not just cramming everything into one box fits all. 

I second bbmike; this would be amazing! 

I just signed up for their newsletter and got a free key to Off-World Trading Company.  May have to look at some of us doing some MP.

So apparently decisions have consequences.

Decided, as one does, it was a good idea to arrange for the Egyptian Pharaoh to go to the afterlife prematurely from you know "natural causes." It works, no one is the wiser, life goes one. Fast forward 10 years and suddenly a real unhappy fellow shows up in the throne room claiming we had something to do with the death of their former Pharaoh. "We don't know what you are talking about" we say. "I have proof" he says and now there is a huge Egyptian army marching my way......

Ha, that's awesome, TCT!  This is the sort of thing I need to read about to help get me back into this game.

So yeah, about that. See what had happened was that previous administration had gutted the military budget to focus on infrastructure improvements and never really seemed worried about a strong military because hey we're nice guys. This strategy is currently being reevaluated.

That is a lot of up-dates!

I have to keep reminding myself that Mohawk had been patching this game for a solid year before it released on Steam & GOG -- and it was closer to two years when you include their Early-Access phase.

I poked my head back into Old World for a bit last night and...man, it's just not grabbing me.  I really don't know what it is -- the presentation, perhaps? -- but there's something about this game that causes me to keep bouncing off of it.   

(To compare/contrast, Imperiums: Greek Wars is no less complex, yet I've had an easier -- or at least more enjoyable -- time getting into that one.)
