Just received an email that says my copy of Fleet Commander Nimitiz Expansion 1: Adversary Yamamoto has shipped! 

The expansion features the "Yamamoto" AI cards, giving Japan an enhanced AI to give its forces a whole new level of decision-making.

I have it and the other expansions too. 2nd Edition has apparently caused some issues among players, detailed over in the BGG forums. Have you taken a look at those, yet?

Seems to me like they're easy fixes.

I think I ordered the upgrade kit but I have yet to receive it.

Ah, so you do not have the FCN 2nd Edition? I didn't realize they made an upgrade kit for 1st.

I regret not giving this more time. And I sold it a few months ago for other "shiny" stuff.

I saw your unboxing. I didn't see any mention of "fleet" management? That was one gripe I had with the original...having so many counters on the board when they could've been fleet counters with the fleet makeup off board.

The Yamamoto expansion gives cards that have ship counters on them. You can therefore build a fleet (e.g., a carrier group with the Akagi, Kaga, Hiryu, and Soryu, plus escorts), and that fleet moves as one unit, instead of having to roll for each and every counter.

Each fleet card has a corresponding fleet counter to go on the map.
