A little sad, but not surprising.  I'm somewhat amazed it's had as long a run as it has.

The designers should have gone with four pairs of smaller engines instead of the four huge P&Ws. That's the ticket to true immortality.

747s will be flying for a long time after production shuts down. It's one of the greatest aircraft designs of all time.
