Yeah, I don't get THAT much corner-cutting. That IS corner-cutting, NOT corner-rounding. Corner-rounding is an art form while that's just mutilation.
Then again, it's their game, so they can do to it as they will.

Wow, that's fugly. I don't think an Oregon Laminations clipper did that as they tend to round the corners more and those are straight across.

Why Clip Counters?
Wargames don't come ready-to-play. So, consider the analogy of a plastic model: You remove the parts from the sprue (punch counters from the frame) and then trim any flashing off the parts (clip the ragged corners off the counters) before you begin assembly (setting up the game). To which somebody once said that wargames aren't models. Of course they are; they model historical situations. So, who would be crazy enough to build a model without trimming the flashing?

I knew a guy that got into a bar fight against 2 guys with razor blades. He came out looking better than those counters.

After looking at some reviews on Amazon it appears the one I have is better for counter clipping.
From both a positive and a negative review:
- This is best used on larger counters and not the small standard pieces found in most war-games and boardgames.
- Terrible for counter clipping, at least for Thunderbolt Apache Leader.
I got this specifically for counter clipping those tokens: they are too thick, and cannot be seated without forcing them in. This means they cannot be consistently seated, and corners are clipped very inconsistently.

Mine "deluxe" broke if you remember...I used the screw - epoxy fix. It's still working though it doesn't get over used...but it's done a few hundred counters since I've fixed it.

That's good to hear as I'd prefer to keep the original handle rather than replace it.

I recently did the trick of gluing a die to the end of the handle. It's supposed to stop it from flexing too much, which is supposed to contribute to breaking the handle.

I have the 2.5mm and it does great. It didn't even look bad for 1/2" counters...it's just the right size.
Also - my handle broke some time ago and some very helpful grog shared a video of how to fix it...a small drill, some epoxy and a screw and BAM! It's working again.
