Well, for the sake of my financial health they need to make it even more complicated and difficult to navigate since it did not keep me from preordering American Tank
ace.  :(

What is CSS and OSS series?

CSS = Company Scale System, an evolution of the TCS series that Starkweather (the designer) did back at MMP

OSS = Operational Scale Series, designed to 'feel' like a monster, but theoretically play in a single (long) day.

Thanks Brant

I want War for America...but I'll have to wait until SCG has it in stock (which is a good thing)

Heh.  Glad I'm not the only one who raised an eyebrow at that.

That was pretty much my reaction to the whole list.

Did they just randomly select games for that list?  ???

honestly from outside the historical game category, most of them are defensible. They're not the kind of games we would prefer to play but they were all popular and well-regarded.

The "historical board game" category, though, is exactly what everyone was afraid it would become....

Yeah, I guess I can see that. I mean, you're right, the history category must have been pretty thin, or the judges clueless.

Admittedly, some I've never heard of. I'm hoping the podcast will help alleviate my out-of-touchness with other games in those veins. We'll see.

I mean if it's honestly a decent game, then fine, but the title sounds like a bad sci-fi-themed porno.
