ESSEN ...

aka https://www.spiel-messe.com/en/ ...

and this year ...

https://spiel.digital

These folks are taking a slightly different approach to the virtual game convention ... looks like they are putting together a virtual exhibitor's hall where each exhibitor's "booth" is a clickable area (I guess location and size based on how much you pay) in the virtual exhibitor's hall and that takes you to an area which show's the exhibitor's products and then an area which leads to demo tables (which I assume the exhibitor is expected to man)
So, all the fun of a game convention for the masses and all the long hours of manning the booths for the exhibitors.

Unique, and probably the defacto standard for all virtual game cons to follow.

A word to the wise ... the video is LONG and starts out slow (unbearable, really) ... but there is some stuff worth your time towards the end ... if you click the video ... you need to get to the 10m mark before he actually stops gushing over himself about how amazing this will be and starts providing info ... I think it is about the 13m mark when he starts to show the prototypes for the virtual game booths.

that sounds really neat....   and prohibitively expensive to set up!

I did not see/hear them mention a price ... but I suspect you are right.
Sounds like a unique and potentially fun experience for attendees if you enjoy wandering the gamecon booths.
