So I went to Tankfest in Bovington this year. It was BUSY!!! There were 9000 people there and if anyone knows Bovington, they know that that is toooooo many people for Bovington tank museum.

It's a hell of a drive to get there...almost 4 hours...so it's not a journey I often make. However this year was worse. Instead of getting there at 10:00 when I had timed us leaving, we got there at 11:40 because the motorway was closed around Southampton and so all the traffic was going through Southampton...making it grid locked.

It was HOT. It was BUSY. But it was great too.

Here are some pics I took.

Great pix!

Looks like someone used the rusty stow box on the side of the Japanese weenie tank for target practice.

Very cool,

I’ve spent half my life’s earning on wargames, women, and drink. The rest I wasted.

Its been a lot of years since I went to Bovington, and its been much expanded and added to. Fantastic place.

The amount of armour they have there is phenomenal - though quite a bit of it is in a huge shed and pretty well packed together, making photos difficult. But the museum is awesome with some cracking exhibits.

I really can't recall what the wee US Armoured car was. It looked like a fun ride though.
