So Firaxis decided to go with a Microsoft approach. I had to uninstall the game and reinstall it in order to get it to work.

Yeah, it's working now. One drought and one volcano eruption so far.

Yeah, I've been trying to rig that construction....
I'm really liking the new additions. Now if they could just tighten up the AI a bit more....
Had a tornado go through and wipe out my dye plantation. Which caused a slight drop in everyone's happiness. Which in turn caused one of my outer cites to get displeased and start rebelling.
Great fun…

I've never been good at Civilization but it seems even more difficult now. I have yet to make it past the Medieval age. I love the new DLC, though. The 'political currency' is a good addition. The barbarians also seem smarter to me. Barbarian scouts will regularly attack me now if they think they can kill a unit. In the past all they did was run.

So, those of you with experience with Civ VI, tell me about the AI. Can you not up the difficulty as with previous Civ games (Warlord, Prince, King, etc.)? What's your experiences with the AI at more difficult levels compared to lower ones?

Yes, all the difficulty levels are there.
Prince, which is the default and I find much easier in Civ VI than it was in Civ V or IV.
I usually play on King. It has about the right level of AI push back that I want from my games. But I'm not a min-maxer or trying to beat the game in under 200 turns. I like the flow through all the ages and usually don't win until the atomic age or later.
As you go higher in difficulty level the AI gets more bonuses and I think at Deity it gets an extra settler to start. At immortal it gets 3! Which gives it a huge head start. That's just too much stress for me in a game I like to play to relax.

I never got into micromanaging my cities, moving citizens around to min/max, myself.
