All in all, Randall C. Reed’s Richthofen’s War has held up well for me and I’m glad I picked it up again

That map is nice...if not ruined a bit by the heavy black hexes.

It always amazes me how little access to color they had back in the old days

A rather negative aspect.

I loved that game when I was in middle school.

I remember going to my aunt's for a family party, going into a side room, and setting it up on the floor while my cousins all played outside.

Same here, purchased while in high school circa 1980.

just curious - when did you play it last?  is it something you pull out on occasion to push around?  or is it something you hang onto b/c of the nostalgia factor?
(I have older games in both categories at my place is why I'm asking)

I don't think I ever played it, although I seem to remember that one of my buddies had it (and may still have it). Hid loft is an Aladdin's Cave of games and mini's collected over many years.

Oh, it’s probably been at least 30 years since I played it last. I pull it out now and again to fondle/relive the fondness I have for it.
