Out today

I loved the first one - I know they have taken a different direction with this one and I’m a little torn

There are 2 types of review so far - great ones for those that now appreciate the political wrangling that’s required and having to manage the separate factions

And not great from those that wanted more FP1

One comment I read has been based on the fact that 1 was all about survival but having done that 2 is all about ‘now what?’

Have watched a few hours on YT and for me it looks great - some genuine chin scratching whisky drinking decisions to make when a faction wants something and I like that in a game - may jump

May not not that martok is personally responsible for expanding my wish list by 6 more games  :tickedoff:

Didn't play 1. Never appealed to me for some reason.

^I haven't played it either but I can't tell you why. I love steampunk, I love winter. Maybe it's the non-specific setting? I usually don't like generic settings. Kinda bland.

You should try reading the 'Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences' series of books. Great Steampunk theme. Highly recommended.

What we really need is a Steampunk game done in the style of warlock II............... :)

Also tell us some titles of non-steampunk books that you loved for those of us not steampunk inclined.  :cowboy:

Must Reads?

The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch.

The Kings Watch series by Mark Heyden.

The Chronicles of St Mary’s series of Jodi taylor.

The Nightmarked series by Kat Ross.

All guaranteed great reads, or I'm a certified nut-case.

Actually, if you want steampunk, good stories and also a damn good laugh, then I highly recommend the 3-book series (and one short) 'Steam, Smoke & Mirrors' by Colin Edmonds. Absolute hoot - some actual laugh out loud moments.

Frostpunk is one of those games I'm always curious about, but never pull the trigger on.  A pity there's no demo available.

It goes without saying that the books in those series need to be read in chronological order to make sense. But you knew that, didn't you  :)
