Title: Europa Universalis IV
Post by: Martok on May 03, 2022, 04:42:07 PM
(I was certain we already had a dedicated thread for EU4, but apparently not...)

So it looks like the next DLC is heading to the Baltics:

I really need to take some time and dive into this. I just picked up pretty much everything for it from the recent humble bundle deal. I'd also like to try the Anbennar mod at some point.

^  Same, especially about the Anbennar mod.  I've heard good things about it.

Sometimes, however, I suspect that I like the *idea* of Paradox's games, more than I like the games themselves.  Stellaris has been the lone exception to this rule, although there's been a couple times I felt I was frustratingly close to grasping CK2 as well.

Yeah, Stellaris is the only one I've put a fair amount of time into so far (~300 hours). I've played a bit of CK2 and CK3. Part of the problem is wanting the game to be in a stable state mechanically, and they like to make major changes. So with Stellaris, I haven't spent time figuring things out with the 3.3 and soon the 3.4 patch. I guess I should jump into Imperator as that isn't changing any time soon.

Ahem:

He showed Dent his newly-redesigned Africa, with plenty of fjords because they give a "baroque" feel to a continent.

He was probably my favorite character in the first book.  (I'm not a *complete* Philistine, you know.)  8)

Holy crap, that's a massive list -- I counted over 30 pages' worth.  :o  I'm going to guess that the free update will have a larger impact than the DLC itself when they both release next week.
