The original game was absolutely groundbreaking when it came out. I don't think anyone else has done proper, full 3D RTS in space anywhere near as well as Homeworld did.

Needless to say I loved it, but to my shame I never played the sequel. And to my further shame I have the remastered collection in my library and I've put....er, two hours into it. I need to get working on that.

Sigh...... Me, too.

Is the release set for Q4 this year or next year? I’ve seen both years posted.

I just read somewhere earlier this week that it had been delayed.  That's backed up by the fact that on the game's Steam page, the release date has now been changed from December 2022 to "First half of 2023".

Whatever the date, I cannot resist making this a Day 1 purchase, I need help.

I *think* I can resist buying it on release day.  However, I'm not holding myself to that promise...

The scale in Homeworld 3 is tremendous - it's a space RTS for the James Webb era

And those two words "it's fun" are crucial to what Homeworld 3 is about. It's as though the faff of the old games has been tidied away - but not sacrificed - to enable the exciting parts of the formula to come through. And what really comes through for me is space.

Trailer with extended footage:

I know it's cherry-picked, but it's still hard to ignore all the sexiness.

I wonder if we get more information on the galaxy and find out who the Progenitors really are.

The first game was revolutionary, Cataclysm was rich with worldbuilding potential and a genuine "horror RTS" and then Homeworld 2 was almost a seamless continuation of the 1st if the events of Cataclysm did not happen or was simply forgotten about.

Deserts of Kharak was a pleasant surprise. The Homeworld has some really rich worldbuilding potential that I feel the writers aren't tapping into. Maybe we'll get something good out of 3. Time will tell.

I have Homeworld Remastered...but it's not installed and in my "hidden" list in Steam with a total play time of 20 minutes, so I have tried it, but I don't recall why it didn't stick with me.

I just re-installed (Homeworld and Homeworld 2 Remastered) this yesterday to have a go. 2 things stand out that are mild annoyances

1. Can't invert mouse movement
2. Can't get a unit out of a group. I have several units in several groups now

Overall though, not a bad game. Late to the party, I'll admit!

Might need to spawn a new thread for this. Have any of you seen this?
