First I noticed a couple of you say you didn't really enjoy the domination victory and was wondering if you had a favorite style to play or victory to shoot for?
I like the diplomatic victories the most, but a lot of that is holdover from Civ 5. I'm still learning the best approaches to the different victories on Civ 6. Barth's got a 5 year hard start on me
Next any thoughts on using the option from the "random tech tree" in the game?
I think it's very cool and definitely makes you adjust more on the fly compared to a regular tech tree. I also like shuffling the civics tree, too.
I have some thoughts on what's automatically considered "progress" around the tech trees, as they original inventor of the concept seemed to be heavily influenced by McLuhan's theory of technological determinism
Finally what are your preferred game settings? (i.e. Game speed, map type etc)
I like a big map, mix of small continents & islands, not a lot of opponents, medium number of city-states, slow-but-not-painful speed. I like to spread out and explore and develop as I go, without having something right on top of me at the start, and plenty of room to continue exploring even late into the game. I don't want the whole map uncovered by turn 68.
Also, now I want more Civ multiplayer in my life as I don't think I've gotten to game w/ Brant or MD yet.
Sure, we can get one going. MD's just now playing his first 2 MP games and I'm in both.
Thanks! Maybe we'll see who else wants to start a game soon. Now to get some answers from Brant, MD and OJ
There's mine... get the others to chime in!
