I'd forgotten the DLC was adding a new origin ("Primal Calling") as well. If you've ever wanted to play as a civilization of ranchers IN SPAAAACE!!, you can now do that.

« Last post by Martok on Yesterday at 04:38:28 PM »Yeah, New Horizons felt like the mod creators threw everything into it, including the kitchen. On the plus side, it can make for a very immersive experience, and with an absolutely insane amount of Trek content & lore. The downside, however, is that it also feels incredibly bloated, and frequently overwhelming. I also seem to recall that certain leaders cannot be moved around, and/or are limited in what they can do; i.e., Jonathan Archer can only ever command the Enterprise NX-01, nor can he take command of a fleet (because the Enterprise can't be merged with one).
I've only spent a few hours with the New Civilizations mod so far, but I'm already liking it a lot better. There isn't nearly as much bloat, the learning curve is a heck of a lot easier, and the immersion factor is definitely there. I haven't played enough yet to see how well the content & lore has been integrated into the mod, but given the NC creators were originally part of the NH mod team, I suspect that will not be a concern.

Me too - although that is a spec for running that 4k

I'll give this a try though.

Civ 7 is not RTS. What makes you think it is?

Man, I wanted to like Planetfall so bad: It looked good, and the game mechanics & features all felt like they should be up my alley. In the end, though, I bounced off it; I'm still not sure why.
Same. I liked AoW III so I figured Planetfall would be a refined, sci-fi themed version. I really wanted to like it and pumped quite a few hours into playing it but it just didn't resonate with me. There was nothing egregiously bad about the game, but nothing really stood out as great either. It just felt bland and I couldn't get invested.
