At the Mary Rose display in England, they note that many of the drowned, were killed because the anti boarding nets were set up.
They were designed to keep attackers out, but when the ship sank, they trapped the sailors inside.

Man, I just know that crap would go right into my eye. First fight I'm in, bam, lost an eye. Anything flying around always hits me in the eye; this would absolutely do it.

No thanks, I'm going the descendant aristocrat route, and just get gout.

I actually don't really like games.
