^  Right?!

Looking at the forums and Reddit, I guess quite a lot of folks are jazzed about the improved auto-resolve.  It's notoriously bad in Warhammer II (possibly the worst in the entire series), so any improvement is welcome.  Only the most hardcore and/or masochistic players choose to fight every battle, after all, so a better auto-resolve -- or at least a more predictable one -- is certainly something to look forward to.

I used to at least attempt to play out almost all TW battles years ago but I just don’t have that kind of stamina anymore. Except in Shogun 2...those battles are epicly fun and beautiful and every one is worth playing.

I hope your better half isn’t disappointed by your lack of stamina. 🥸

Other way round for me - the ability to watch a live battlefield full of all the lead figures from my youth is awesome - guaranteed wins like 3000 v 500 I’ll auto but the rest is a dream for me

My better half would auto resolve everything if I was down for it.

Well it turns out I called it (though it's probably not for the reasons I enumerated at the time):  Warhammer III has officially been delayed until next year.

Reaction among the community appears to be surprisingly even overall.  There's obviously still folks who are upset, but generally speaking, there doesn't seem to be a lot of calls going out for the gathering of torches & pitchforks, the marching on CA/Sega headquarters, etc.  I wonder if quite a few folks weren't expecting/anticipating a delay.

Cody Bonds has an interesting debate with a puppet (yes, really) regarding the pros & cons of the delay, and the possible reasons behind it...

I for one am quite pleased - I’m not ready for 3 yet - there’s so much left of 2 to work thru

I honestly got goosebumps from this trailer.  I suddenly want to play as these guys even more than Kislev now.

Dear lord - that’s a great trailer - a million miles away from a few units of Bretonnian farmers and some archer!

That trailer made me question reality. As the most casual of casual WH fans, it is frustrating that Cathay are not in any WH books, yet.

Agreed!  I think this is truly one of the greatest trailers CA has ever done, which is saying something.

I imagine that's because -- until now -- Grand Cathay has only ever been on the periphery of the Warhammer fantasy universe.  They've basically been the equivalent of a background character, albeit one that's somewhat important/influential.  However, I suspect that will begin to change, going forward.

I'll need a new PC to run that - I have enough trouble running II  :(
