I still get at least two flyovers a day by F-16s out of Luke. Haven't seen anything else in a while, though they did do a parade of aircraft early on in this COVID era, around the city.

This is a wonderful bit of old film - well worth watching.

When observers from USN went to see how the RN early in the war, they knew nothing of the planes.
One officer was shocked to see a swordfish flying into the wind, practically hovering with it's very low stall speed.
"Who builds those?"
"Faireys."
"Of course, they do."

Always wondered why the admiralty put a surface officer in charge of the carrier that Scharnhorst bagged.  You would think they would want a CO thoroughly familiar with carrier ops, now that war began.

"We've got the torpedo damage temporarily shored up, the fires out and soon will have the ship back on an even keel. But I would suggest, sir, that if you have to take any more torpedoes, you take 'em on the starboard side."   Pops Healy, DCA USS Lexington.
