Folks, first, let's get it back together at 1800 CDT on Saturday.
That said, do I have some news:
1. Perhaps unsurprisingly (?) only those units that have moved outside of 10'' may recover their fatigue overnight.
2. This one is huge. It is explicit -- bold italics and everything -- but, holy cow. Defensive artillery fire against moving troops may never use canister. NEVER.

See you then

see you all then!
-
Looking forward to it

"2. This one is huge. It is explicit -- bold italics and everything -- but, holy cow. Defensive artillery fire against moving troops may never use canister. NEVER."?
This rule applies at any range?
Not to be harsh, but I am that type of person, Pickett's charge was subject to canister fire, during the move up the ridge. There is a great painting of this, "Retreat by recoil".

It means that if you let a brigade get closer than 8”, you won’t be able to fire defensive canister as it closes. That said, the gun gets a nice bonus when melee happens to its front.

So.......no bonus, but firing at melee range has a bonus?

Yes, no bonus during interrupt. If, for whatever reason, the attacker parks himself too close to the guns or a gun can be dragged into canister range, then you get the big bonus. In melee, there's still a bonus for attacking guns frontally but it's less.
