So...tired...

All of Europe, notably i's battlefields, is up-bloody-hill.

No exceptions.

Shall we finish Teugn-Hausen?

Tomorrow is somewhat questionable for me. I seem to have come down with dysentery or something similar.

It's been a rough week.

I actually don't really like games.

To say that I learned infinite things would be false, but I learned a great many things.

So many that it will take a long while to process it all.

I learned, for example, at the site of Charles' H.Q. before the Battle of Wagram, now the Wagram museum, that soldiers experienced such profound dysentery so ergularly that it altered their pelvic structure -- added material to the, erm, end.  Found regularly in skeletons excavated from battlefields.

One thing I'll give AGEOD's old engine: it does a stellar job modeling the attrition any body of troops will experience, even just sitting in place. We seldom model the effects of disease in our games, but dysentery killed more soldiers in Napoleonic armies than ever died in combat.

And right now, I think I know why.

I actually don't really like games.

There was an old army story about sanitation.  Think it was In Lucian Truscott's the Twilight of the Cavalry.

Cooks can be notoriously dim.  During Pershing's expedition to chase Pancho Villa, the cooks set up their cooking area downstream of the latrines.
One of Pershing's staff got into an argument with a very senior cook, it ended with his sarcastic question, "How do you want your coffee to taste?"

"These things must be done delicately-- or you hurt the spell."  - The Wicked Witch of the West.
"We've got the torpedo damage temporarily shored up, the fires out and soon will have the ship back on an even keel. But I would suggest, sir, that if you have to take any more torpedoes, you take 'em on the starboard side."   Pops Healy, DCA USS Lexington.

Oh, and it goes without saying that JP and SDR are most welcome to assume their “former parts” if available.

Things are hotting up!

I believe he would put it squarely in the category of “Hanseatic wheat orgy”.
