Title: Steam wish list of dreams
Post by: Undercovergeek on June 24, 2021, 07:13:36 PM
Necromunda, iron harvest and gears of war all at least 60% off

Iron harvest is down from £47 to £11

And the dreaded Britannia sale brings it in at £10

A mere £40 to satisfy the wish list gods and not a spare second to play them ☹️☹️☹️

I’m tempted to get them all but they’ll sit there installed and never played

You say that like it's a bad thing.

There are 21 games on my wishlist.

Of those, 15 are still in development (not even in early-access).

The remaining 6 are all on sale.  However...5 are in early-access, and the other is a new release, so none of them have a discount of more than 20% off.

Given all that, the temptation to buy is (mercifully!) pretty easy to resist.

I picked up Aliens Colonial Marines. I'm not expecting alot - but it was nice to hear the M41A Pulse Rifle  faithfully recreated :notworthy:

I might do gears of war because it’s on sale so rarely

^If it were turn based I'd buy it.

Iron Harvest is my gaming fantasy. I love it. It can be extremely difficult in parts, and samey in some other parts, but if you, like me, enjoy diesel/steampunk...'tis a no brainer.

When you all mention Gears of War above do you mean Gears Tactics? 'Cause I've been eyeing that one forever and am going to finally get it during this sale.

Along with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Siege Survival - Gloria Victis, and the Praetorians - HD Remaster.

Check out Aliens: Fireteam Elite. It's supposed to be coming out this August.

I've got 25 games on my wishlist now and my cheapskate self was wanting bigger discounts. (yeah I know you can't please me) Also, due to recent RL stuff I'm trying to not spend much. So far I've just picked up Civil War Ultimate General. Not sure if I"ll jump on anything else unless they have a good flash sale

Now that would be fun in multiplayer with some AD folks.

I'll pick up something during the sale. Looking at Battletech, Warhammer Inquisition, and No Man's Sky. However, I might just go with some DLC for Warhammer Total War. Or maybe Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition....sigh....

Oolala...Panzer Corps Gold  is less than $10! Now that seems like some good gaming fun.

I'm still dithering over several items. Knowing me, the sale will have finished before I make up my mind.

I just pulled the trigger on my Summer Sale purchasing the complete packages for Battletech and Grimdawn. I opted for a turn-based strategy game and a thoughtless hack and slash. I want some DLC but I need to decipher the gems from the crap for Total War and maybe Stellaris.

This is the most consistent way I save money on games.  :D

Speaking of dithering...we need to do some more Left 4 Dead 2 runs. Frying pan zombie slaughter for the win!

Its been a long time since we did that! I'd be up for it, and if I recall correctly, TCT was on the team :-)

I believe you are correct and I believe Gus joined in once or twice to lend his screams of terror to ambiance. L4D2 is always a good time laying wasted to hordes of undead.

I finally, 'Manned-Up' and pulled the trigger on War In The East. Nerd-gasm to ensue.  :nerd:

I would definitely play L4D2 again. I'll wear a diaper.

That new Aliens game looks like the beez neez as well!

I definitely want Aliens: Fire Team added to my lineup.

I actually have L4D2 too - had to check  ;D

We all bought it together way back when. LB was excellent at it. So was Oche. Me...meh. But it was damned fun.

Not as fun as whichever CoD we all played (I think we had over a dozen playing simultaneously for a while) but still fun.

LB was a one man whirlwind with a katana - I had trouble keeping up with him. If we can get it together, it would be fun to do again :-)

I think I played with Gus and Bison a couple of times.  If you're looking for some good, cheap, chaotic co-op games besides L4D, I recommend:

1)  Strange Brigade.  1930s style pulp action where to take stiff upper lip Brits soldiers, mad scientist types, occulitsts, and a Brummie lesbian mechanic and fight mummies.

2) Vermintide 2.  Melee combat focused hack n slash set in the Warhammer fantasy universe.  Good fun.  I am bummed that they increased the height of the Dwarf so he can now see over the top of the wheat on the farm level.  I thought it was hilarious that he couldn't see anything at all and gad to be guided through it when it was first released.

3) World War Z.  Zombie shooter similar to L4D but much more gun focused.  The mass zombie waves in that game are very cool.

Been wanting to play Vermintide forever. Have always been bummed there is no SP campaign.

You can play the mini campaigns  with ai teammates.  They're dumb but it's still decent.

I don't know about these other games you speak of but I am down for some L4D2. There are a bunch of new maps that I have not played yet, i.e. suffered an inglorious death.

I will only play MP with people I kinda sorta know. I curse at teenagers from my window every day, I don't need to do that online too.

SDR I think you told me about the Vermintide AI years ago - but still - playing with people sounds better.
