Army maneuvers about 1910.
If you jump to 11:00, they are man handling a naval 4.7" gun.  Quite a slog.

I am reading Kenneth Chase's Firearms and just saw a bit about, in the 17th century you needed 200  horses for each gun, including the ammunition, powder, and other supplies.
