https://7969.home.blog/2020/12/02/the-battles-of-zelenopillya/

interesting article about the different narratives of what happened in a border battle back in 2014.

Beyond that though, the lessons learned by each of the different sides analyzing the battle have had longer reaching implications, including effects on US doctrine

Looking back on this article with the benefit of 6+ months of current Russian ops in Ukraine, I think we can all throw the US/Western account of the battle described in this article deep into the shitcan

You have a good point.

This new war however is unlike anything we've ever seen before but, I think one could say that about any war.

Don't be afraid, don't be dismayed

Very true.

For folks that are interested, we do ask that we stay off of the 'current events' track on the Ukraine War here in forums.

If you *ARE* interested in some discussions / news & links sharing, and articles about current ops in the conflict (rather than a historical lookback like this one) we have an opt-in-only channel on the Discord for it

Once you join the Discord, just send up a flare letting the admins know that you'd like access to that channel, and we'll get you added.
