campaign is on GameFound, as we've discussed elsewhere

World at War 85: Blood and Fury starts on Monday

https://gamefound.com/projects/lnlp/blood-and-fury?ref=search

270% funded and all stretch goals have been unlocked.

Shame Operation Red Gauntlet wasn't part of the stretch goal group.

OMG it’s expensive this time around.  :o

yeah, I wonder how much of a bath they took on the last one considering it was getting shipped right as the rates were starting to go up

They have already had lots of comments on th price. Their official line is that the cost of everything, paper, shipping, manufacturing etc, has gone up by significant amounts over the past 2 years since the last one.
Gonna be hard to stretch for it… but hard not to jump in as it’s a great system.

I love the system
It's a great company
seems like a no-brainer

I just had to make sure the $$s lined up since I just had to get a new car to replace my previous one

Has anyone here read the abuse LnL are getting for this game? On BGG and also Gamefound?

It's not out yet and has a rating of 4.5 on BGG.

David Heath is personally, regularly, verbally attacked.

I just can't believe people can react so poisonously and personally to something like a game which was up for pre-order and - admittedly (posibly) late (I genuinely don't know when it was scheduled to be delivered).

I pre-ordered after their amazing World at War Storming the Gap Kickstarter and paid for my pledge on the 28th Aug '22. I do not know when it was due. Some time in 2023 I guess.

I just don't get it. I get flustered about certain things in life - but a board game, which I'm allowed to pre-order, that misses an ETA...  ???

There's someone on there letting everyone know they're dying. God forbid they're telling the truth, but if I was dying, I think I'd be bothered about some other shit than a game that's late! I suppose that's his focus and that's fine. It absolutely would not even register in my mind. There's a whole host of other stuff I'd need to get done before I bothered about a game.

Anyway - there are plenty of posts over there that are just absolutely disgusting. They are tearing the company apart and worse, personally ripping David Heath a new one.

I get it - it's late.
I get it - it's frustrating.
I get it - LnL could be more communicative...they have been somewhat lacking.

But man - it's a board game.

 :idiot2:

it's over 18 months late, but there's all sorts of ridiculous speculation out there about it, including a couple of mooks who thought David was coming to the Fall Assembly and were going to attend just to harass him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

18 months late? Like actually late? I only ordered it in August 22. When was it meant to be shipped then because there's only 16 months from when I pre-ordered it...so it was meant to be delivered 2 months before I pre-ordered it?

I mean - 18 months is very late. And as I said, their communication has been really quite poor. But I just never expected such abuse for a board game.

18 is probably an exaggeration, but it's getting close to that.  The original Gamefound page said
Quote
Upon successful funding of the crowdfunding campaign, we estimate delivery starting in December 2022
They hit the funding goal in July of 2022 and are over a year late on delivery, and they don't even have final product in hand yet.

I have no doubt it'll be spectacular (in part b/c I have one of the production proofs here at my place) but it is indisputably ridiculously late.

You're quite right though - the level of personal invective aimed at David is completely unwarranted and unnecessary.

Yeah - that is late. And as I said, I'm not sure they did themselves many favours by not communicating much.

I just don't get the vitreol. Very unnecessary.

Anyway - "can't wait" doesn't seem to be an appropriate term - but I am looking forward to receiving it at some point.
