Went on a tear of P500 support yesterday including this one, Mr. President. Currently standing at 1,908 pre-orders though BGG is full of comments about how long it's taken to develop this one. It's been at least three years that Gene Billingsley has been working on it, but it looks like he might be ready to send it to the art department finally.
Anyway, this one is very intriguing because it's a solo game where you play the President of the United States (natch). You're torn in many different directions with ever-shifting priorities, disasters, and real-world events coming up (including war between other countries). In one of his blog posts, he said "why do I feel like there are 20 holes and I only have 10 fingers to plug with?" I love that concept and it seems it would make GREAT AAR material/narrative.
It does not simulate an election (I've got a couple of games on that subject), which is refreshing, though he did allude in one post to needing to pave the way for a second term.
Here's the first blog post Gene did, if you're interested - the narrative is very intriguing.

https://www.gmtgames.com/p-555-mr-president.aspxThe only thing that annoys me about it is there's a lot of people that have already given this game ratings on BGG and on GMT's site (WTF guys, how do you rate a game that's not out yet? I get you're excited - hell, I am - but come on).
