Apparently an "extended reveal" is coming a week from today, courtesy of CA and PSC (who are the ones making it). The Kickstarter campaign will be launched end of the year or early next year.

Hmm not sure how this will translate to a board game but I might be in it just for the minis that I'm sure will come with the game :)

I'm afraid to click that link.

Given the source, caution is indeed warranted. But perhaps that's not what you're really worried about. :P

No you got it - that's it!

I am not so convinced TW transfers well to a board game. However, it will be interesting to see how the address the turn-based strategic map and RTS battles.
-
Would have been more interesting to me if they tried out Shogun first but oh well.

I'm skeptical as well. Still curious, though.

I agree, Shogun would've been a better choice.
However, a Shogun TW boardgame isn't going to do nearly as well, especially going the Kickstarter route. Given all the love Rome gets -- both the setting and the first Total War game -- it practically guarantees the necessary money will be raised.

^True. But we're niche weirdos, are we not?

We are indeed. 8)

I am curious to see how they're going to translate everything in a TW game to a tabletop experience that won't require 3 acres of table space.
I also know that the damn thing will probably cost at least $300, and I therefore won't be buying it. :2funny:
