Damn.

I always manage to forget -- or perhaps not fully realize in the first place? -- just how much content/material was available for the original D&D.  I suppose that's a combination of my age (I'm one of the (relatively) younger blokes here), plus not really getting into the game until 3.0 came out.  I have a passing familiarity with AD&D, but I've never played the original.

I have a lot of those old modules. I have no idea where they are right now though...lol.

So over the past 10 days or so, this article has hit over 300 views, with over 50 hits on some days.  The thing is, I can't figure out where the hits are coming from.  I've tried double-checking all the usual suspects: The Piazza, Dragonsfoot, ENWorld. etc, but I can't find it.  Our Google/Jetpack tracking stats aren't showing a specific inbound link or referral that would explain it.  I'm just curious where the traffic is coming from.  It doesn't appear to be anything spammy.  Anyone got any ideas?

Unlikely, because our stats tracking tools segregate those into their own category

My B2 and B3 modules are in excellent condition. I still have the original DD box and dice when I bought them. We used to forgo outside recess in grade school to get a little time in playing with four or five friends.

Bored quarantine searches?

Maybe, but usually when you get a cluster of hits like that it's because someone had a link referring people to it

Could it be that the referral was buried in the comments section of some random blog post or posted on a site like Facebook, or Pinterest?

yeah, it totally could be, but the inbound traffic sources aren't indicating that, and that's part of my annoyance  :-\

I can see what's coming in from search engines, but not always the terms they used.  :nope:
We've got the referrals from "Facebook" but not specifically where in FB, and I'm in all the major BECMI/Mystara groups on FB already.  :worried:
They're not coming in from CSW or GMT Games  :hehe:

I'm just wondering what other Mystara colonies there are out there on the web that I didn't already know about  :waiting:

someone stitched the trail maps together

https://mystara.thorfmaps.com/tm1-tm2-western-and-eastern-countries-8/

the PNG you can download on that page is HUGE - 71.6mb - and is over 17k x 12k at 300 px/in

they've chopped out all the marginal info, so it's just the map key + map, but it's still pretty awesome.

71.6MB huge? Nah, in 1988 it might have been huge.

It's going to choke my dial-up connection.

It will get all the way to 68.4MB downloaded and then someone will pick up the phone.  :2funny:

There's an all-new 5th Ed players guide for Mystara, compiled by some community members, and it's a free PDF download.

https://rpgmp3.com/mystara-players-guide/

Maps by Thorfinn Tait, and mini-GAZ intros for each of the different areas of the map, and a LOT of 5e-compatible info for the setting

here's a link to a G-drive archive of the original OD&D campaign from Moldvay & Schick that that they developed back at Kent St in the 70s that eventually became Mystara
