Quote
Yogi and Possum finished the Top Gun course at the end of February 1983.

FWIW, in February 1983 I was in my senior year of undergrad about five miles away from the Top Gun school at what was then Miramar Naval Air Station.  My girlfriend (now wife) lived about three miles from Miramar NAS.

I’ve spent half my life’s earning on wargames, women, and drink. The rest I wasted.

Your girlfriend was sleeping with Yogi and Possum?!

Being able to Google shit better than your clients is a legit career skill.

She was 22 at the time, probably too old for them.

Pity the poor guy who picked the pack that had the squad rations in it. How much black bread can you eat before you hit the ground?

..and if that wasn't in bad taste, then I don't know what is.

...maybe I should ban myself......................again!

And loud. That plane really extinguishes my anxiety of wildfires.  :hehe:

Back in the 70s, wasn't the DC10 involved in a number of fatal accidents?
Have a recollection of Bob Hope joking the ultimate tragedy would be driving a Pinto on the Jersey Turnpike and being rear ended by a DC10.

"These things must be done delicately-- or you hurt the spell."  - The Wicked Witch of the West.
"We've got the torpedo damage temporarily shored up, the fires out and soon will have the ship back on an even keel. But I would suggest, sir, that if you have to take any more torpedoes, you take 'em on the starboard side."   Pops Healy, DCA USS Lexington.
