Yeah, I've been watching the progress on the outside for a while now. Can't wait to see the completed renovations.  :bigthumb:

The B-58 is just soooo retro-scifi-looking, and even more so in that pic!

Two man crew, or was it three?

3-man crew and they each had an escape capsule that fully enclosed them if they had to eject.

A summer intern was probably the first to test that capsule.

I’ve spent half my life’s earning on wargames, women, and drink. The rest I wasted.

Back then, before any maiden flights, the test crew could threaten take along a random hostage from the design dept, insuring that all the latter had been trying extra hard to work up to their full potential.

Mig29K landing on Admiral Kuznetzov.  Watch the main struts flex as the plane hits the deck.  If you compare that to other navy's carrier landings, it is pretty obvious this plane isn't designed for use on carriers.

U.S. Navy aircraft of several squadrons inside the airship hangar at Naval Air Station Moffett Field, California, on 30 July 1935 (looking south).

Identifiable planes are: Boeing F4Bs of VF-6 (front), a single Grumman SF-1, Curtiss BFC-2s (VB-2), and others in the background.

I've been to Moffett Field a bunch of time; we've had a variety of CAARNG activities based out of there over the years.
