Title: November 16, 2019 -- ASPERN-ESSLING Part III -- "Blucher"
Post by: Cyrano on November 14, 2019, 10:57:50 AM
Realizing that any attempt to predict what we will play will assuredly go awry, I'll try this:

Who's in for 1900 CST on Saturday?

The past few weekends have not been kind, time-wise. I'd like to attend but won't really know until pretty much the last moment.

I guess it always depends on the work, but I could readily be boondoggled to Naples...

Italy.

Not Florida.

Those who could not attend failed their loved ones and have no honor.

Those who showed up late are beyond my comprehension, although it was nice to see them if briefly.

We finally did manage to finish what Cap'n Darwin dubbed "The Battle for Swamp Castle", a not entirely inappropos name for Aspern-Essling.  My French eked out the narrowed of victories, but I was reminded that "Blucher" may, indeed, be the best fast-play system going.

It also makes me want to swipe the 1809 Scharnhorst campaign someone built on-line and play it on TTS.

I will also observe that our "Blucher" games are consistently popular with the viewership, such as it is...

Damn. Sorry to have missed that. I've played Lasalle in 6mm but not yet Blücher. Lasalle certainly impressed as good quick-play.

There's also sets of Blücher scenarios out in cyberspace that could be TTS-ized.

My friend, where do you think I got A-E from? :)

Ross and his crew are excellent people and now friends-of-Armchair Dragoons.

You know, based on the size of Oldmeldrum, to have a wargames club virtually everyone in the village must play.

Very good. I've had the Sam Mustafa rules on my to-play list for a while now. Starting with Grande Armée. Just not enough interest out here in 6mm unfortunately. We got a bit of a start with Lasalle but that's all.

It all looks much easier in cyberspace.

Is this V&B?

I'm building a Teugn-Hausen for "Blucher" using two ESR bases stuck together.

If it works, I'm going for Wagram.

I just love the miniatures even if, as this last round proved, they really aren't "necessary".

Sure. The miniatures eye candy is what makes TTS special. 8) 8) 8)

That photo is a Lasalle game. https://sammustafa.com/lasalle/ (https://sammustafa.com/lasalle/) Sam, Sam he's our man!
