I'm guessing because they don't let veterans of said battles in the museum?  :2funny:

The tagline at the top kinda caught my attention:

Quote
These stones mark 200 years of friendship between Britain and France following the Napoleonic Wars.

"Friendship" seems like a rather...strong word to use in this instance.  On the other hand, it's a lot shorter/simpler than "not actively trying to tear each other's throats out".  :D

You know, I thought of Jim when I was in Geiranger, Norway a  couple of weeks ago. I came across this monument to the people who lost their lives in the Napoleonic Wars (and WWII).

I also thought of Bob when I was in Heathrow airport and bought these:

...an imperfectly-shaped quadrangle of four modestly-sized villages, namely Grossgoerschen (southeast corner), Kleingoerschen (northeast corner), Rahna (southwest corner), and Kaja (northwest corner).

I love European place names. It's fun to make up little stories about them. In this case, Grossgoerschen fast-talking his brother, Kleingoerschen into double-dating with the stewardess twins, Rahna and Kaja.

This is funny.

 ???

Plus, that's my line.

The Battle of Bautzen is now at the top of my list of Napoleonic battles that no one studies and everyone should.
Here is some preliminary reading on today’s topic {https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Bautzen_(1813)}.  There will be a quiz.

A QUIZ?!?
