Last weekend, I and my two long-time gaming buddies, played the opening scenario of MMP's 'To Take Washington', a game in the 'Line of Battle' series.
It was pretty much a learning game, but the rules are quite easy to follow and we really enjoyed . We subsequently discovered a couple of small errors that we made, but armed with this knowledge we hope to give it another try in a week or so.
Playing this revived my long-time interest in the ACW, and I favour the regimental level. I may look at trying to obtain one of GMT's GBACW series games, maybe 'Twin Peaks'. I think I must have owned all the SPI games from the original series back in the day.
Interesting to note that the next game in this series, due out later this year, covers several battles from Jackson's Valley Campaign, which is certainly my favourite period.
