Was doing a little research and found an interesting read about a retired B-52 tail gunner. The story discusses the evolution of the B-52's rear gun and how it was removed eventually.

A great documentary on Buzz One Four, a B-52 that crashed in Maryland with two nukes on board. It's on Amazon Prime; not sure where else you can catch it, but check it out.
