Gentles all,

BottosCon 2019 has come and gone.  This three-day events is traditionally held on the second weekend in November, and this year's sold-out event was held at the welcoming Inn at the Quay in New Westminster, BC.  Approximately 140 people attended the event, most from the collective Pacific Northwest (BC, Washington State), but some from as far away as Jacksonville, Florida.

Over 100 games were scheduled this year, not including the annual West Coast Rumble ASL tournament.  Although most are military / conflict themed board-and-counter games, euro and strategy-light games are also featured.  Additionally, at least four tables were dedicated to play-testing up-and-coming game designs by Red Sash Games (Sisu and Tangiers), North Quarter Games (Crimson Sands), Micro Design Game Group (Live Free or Die), as well as games on Mons 1914, the Battle of Fallujah, and a new COIN game by noted designer Brian Train.  There is also a dedicated miniatures table, which this year saw games of Air War C21, Canvas Eagles, Wings of Glory, and Cruel Seas.  Also very popular is the always-interesting buy-and-sell corner, and the Door Prize draw, which saw contributions from Command Post Games, Core Games, Dave's Pop Culture, DVG, GMT, Hollandspiel, Imperial Hobbies, Kerry Anderson, Osprey Publishing, Pacific Rim Publishing, Pizza Ludica, Quarterdeck Games, Revolution Games, and Vae Victis.

I had a chance to participate in four excellent game sessions this year:  Last Hundred Yards by GMT; Heroes of Normandy by Lock 'n' Load Publishing; Gunslinger by Avalon Hill, and MBT - FRG by GMT.  I also picked up copies of Wreck of the BSM Pandora (SPI), Asteroid (GDW), Intruder (Task Force Games), MBT (Avalon Hill), Sucking Vacuum (Alien Menace Games), as well as a stack of Osprey reference books. I may try to post some pictures for your vicarious visual enjoyment.

Yours in gaming,
