First Impressions of Arete: The Battles of Alexander

Quote
Minor quibbles about music and the tablet OS aside, playing the game is really satisfying.

anyone else played this at all?

I've got a copy of it on my 8" tablet and aside from an occasional tablet-UI-covering-a-game-button have really enjoyed playing it.  It's definitely a legit, serious H&C game on a mobile platform with a solid design behind it that really makes you think about how to fight the battles, and an AI that's not a cakewalk.

It's not just going to shadow-box with you until it rolls over and plays dead.  You really have to think to beat it.
