If you do you'll be hoplessly outclassed. The time difference between Republican Rome and the Napoleonic wars is enough that the rest of us will be using hovertanks, infantry battlesuits, nukes, and 'mechs.

I actually don't really like games.

I'd LOVE to put together and learn how to paint some model tanks and such. I've had a plastic model kit of the Akagi in my Amazon cart for more than a year. But I would have no place to put them - much like my board games in my new house.

Look at 15mm like Flames of War. Small and if you magnetize the bases you can store in cake pans if you are building armies other wise a tank or five really doesn’t take up much space at all. Think FFG X-wing size models.
