After an hour with Imjin War, I started to enjoy it. The map looks a little overwhelming at first...and it is...but I start to 'get it.'

And if I got it...well you know.

It also had enough era flavor to keep me interested. Still a card game but it has many interested perks.

Sounds promising, maybe this turns out to be the one that actually clicks for me:)

I am skeptical for myself, since I can't imagine this title being much different than the others, but I am willing to fully admit the problem could be just with me:)

Nah I have only dallied with these games as well as the Wars Around the World series and the can be a bit same-y, no doubt.

There was a little secret sauce in Imjin War that made it stand out a little bit more. That said, I also love that era of Asian history, so that could have helped pique my interest.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it, maybe during a sale I will brave the waters again with the series....

Not yet. Halls of Montezuma has been in my wish list for a while now.

Another nice write-up, Gus!  Like you, I'm definitely interested in this one.  :)

Thanks Martok. If you try it out, your interest in the era may help you grasp it in an hour or two like it did for me.

They do allow you to buy and play now, which it is $26.  SGS gives people the option to purchase while they are working on it and give you a little discount.  So if you plan to buy it down the road, certainly an option now for a little cheaper.  I have done it with some of their other titles and believe ultimately the developer emails you a steam key after purchase.  But personally I will be holding off until a very deep sale since not convinced it will be any different then their other titles which hasn't been a positive experience at least for me.
