I am playing multiplayer custom battles (don't like the historical battles for you are so limited in tactical choices). As I said, if you are up for a match, let me know.
It differs from FoG2: Units are often smaller (less men, losses have a bigger impact on modifiers; as most armies are dominated by either offensive or defensive spearmen, which negates each other as long as the defensives don't attack, battles are more of a grind, but everything can fall apart quickly once a unit lost a few fights or a row of flanking charges comes in), ranged combat isn't that effective anymore (unless crossbows versus knights or bows versus cavalry and unprotected units, but most are protected), and knights do pursuit longer than normal cavalry.
Needs some time to wrap ones head around it, if you are used to FoG2.
