This weekend I'll be playing ASL with the local club.

I’ve spent half my life’s earning on wargames, women, and drink. The rest I wasted.

I've been on the fence with it for a while, at least a couple of months. Gloomhaven edged out Big Trouble at Christmastime. I'm a huge fan of the movie, but couldn't pull the trigger on the Legendary Encounters version of that game, but this I could. The minis look fantastic. The board looks quite large so that might be an issue. But yeah, I'm definitely going to do a first impression piece on it.  :bigthumb:

It's a lot of fun. Two little caveats :

1. Set up for this game is way longer than it needed to be.
2. The rulebook kinda sucks. It isn't bad, it's just organized really oddly. You will find yourself searching for something. And searching. And searching.

I assume you're referring to Gloomhaven?

I'm thinking I need that Broken Token organizer...

I finished my DC 1 Blitzkreig French campaign with a big win and so now it's time for 'Sea Lion'. Why are all those sharks gathering in the Channel?  :worried:

Don't remember the exact date but it was about 8 turns early as I recall. I got a bunch of extra PP's and used them to secure the Channel crossings, reduce coastal fortifications, keep American volunteers  away, and some extra shipping. I played Sea Lion once before and you're right, it's a bear to beat.

I've been playing a bunch of Galactic Civilizations 3 this past week (haven't picked up the Retribution expansion yet), but now that Predestination has moved into full release state, it might be time to dive into that.

And as always, I hear the siren call of the Total War series: Thrones of Britannia and Rome II: Rise of the Republic both beckon...

Are these mounted maps? They don’t look like the sk style.

Yes, they are mounted maps.  My friend has some original ASL kit.

I'm going to be playing 1040 and 760 games this weekend, taking care of my mother's taxes.   >:(
