It's game day for the local ASL club tomorrow.  I have a game arranged with a new player.  Hopefully I can bring him over to the dark side.

I’ve spent half my life’s earning on wargames, women, and drink. The rest I wasted.

Working on some structures and terrain for Cruel Seas.  Just finished painting some MTB pens and a lighthouse.

You lot are all right by me...

I've got an email game vassal game of 'To take Washington' on the go with 2 buddies. Its a sort of watered-down Kriegspiel game where me (union) and one of the guys (Reb) send in orders and the other pal does all the moderating.

Its the first time we've tried this so it'll be interesting to see how it works out.

On deck:  Interstellar Space: Genesis, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and/or BATTLETECH

Am waiting on Age of Wonders: Planetfall until the first couple bug/balance passes are out.

No gaming for me this weekend. We're down in Bristol staying with family for a couple of days.

I don't know what it is about Interstellar Space: Genesis but I'm addicted to it. Everything seems to click for me. I feel like I'm playing what MOO3 should have been.

Serpentine, and AC. at first the AC belt was winning because the store gave me the wrong one. I got it swapped out and everything seems to be fine now

The game has garnered quite a few comments along those lines.  While so many have tried their hand at creating a "spiritual successors" to MOO2 and failed (or at best, had mixed/uneven results), it seems IS:G may have finally succeeded.

You can tell the devs truly gave a lot of thought to what previous 4x games did -- and did not -- get right, and then designed/built IS:G accordingly.  It doesn't alter/reinvent the genre the way Stellaris (for better or worse) has, but refined the existing formula with some neat ideas and well-thought-out mechanics (such as the exploration system, and how Leaders work).

Well, I actually bought Madden for the first time in at least a decade, so I'll probably be re-discovering what an awful quarterback I am. And I have my usual stack of board games that need to be played.  :)

you can see the AC belt in the background, but that shredded mess hanging on in the front?  That was the serpentine belt

Holy crap what a mess!  :o

Did it do that all on it's own or was some of the damage from you removing it? I hope it didn't self destruct on the highway because that would suck magnus tempus.
