Gearing up for the first foray back to the table top on Tuesday - lord of the rings game my angmar versus the Easterlings

Fully committed to the LOTR season this year - half way into an azog legion army and have chosen Mirkwood elves and the eagles as my two goodie armies

Sounds good, UCG  :bigthumb:

I'll be exploring the delights of 'Cross the Bug River' and maybe some OST.

1759: Siege of Quebec, from Worthington Games. Just received it in a trade last week along with a few other things so I put it on my table today to give it a try. It's really outside of my general interest/time period interest, wargaming-wise, but it's a fun, quick system, even if generalized. Played the French against the British AI and lost spectacularly in my first game, with the British reducing French morale to zero in short order.

There's just something about those game components that I just don't like.

You mean the wooden pieces just generally representing troops?

Very Euro feel to it, for sure. And it's a little weird issuing an order each turn, with some results rather generalized, but overall the game works as a simple simulation of the siege itself. Not that I know anything other than skimming the Wiki article on this very subject, but it's not a bad game for what it sets out to do.

Hand of God, man, I feel like there's 12+ of us that keep looking into this room you occupy alone urging you to get over here and play games with other people.

Pick the period, I'll rack it up just for you.

Hopefully playing some Star Trek: Bridge Crew with my son. I am working through the tutorials at the moment. You can tell the game was designed for VR but I am not ready to jump down that rabbit hole yet. It still works fine with mouse, keyboard and a good old monitor.

Bridge Crew is awesome in VR.  My son has the headset and I assist the old-fashioned way.

Simple, sure, but a great time.

I didn't know it could be played sans VR. I bet that would be a lot of fun with the crew here.  ;D
