Saw this in the Upcoming section on Steam.
I remember when this first came out and I played it. I immediately called my dad and told him the best, most immersive WWII air war game is out.
Shame it's not aged well. I wish these companies would use old code and put a new package on top.

It was a fun game. Those favorite old flight sims might look dated when you fire them up again now but after playing for a little while you can easily get caught up in the game play.

I wonder how the AI compares to modern sims.
I have fond memories of the awesome printed manuals that often came with this era of flight/sub sims. EAW had one of the best.

Also played the original a lot, back in the day. I remember one mission flying a P-51D to escort B-17's and attempting to shepherd a damaged one back. Its was gradually losing height and I eventually had to watch it hit the ground. I was pretty upset! It was great game for that period and very immersive.

It is also available on GOG if you don't want the Steam apron strings. A classic and still very playable WWII sim.
And I still have my original printed manual as well. Also a classic.

Printed manuals? With a game? You must've hit your head on something. ???

I have to ask - who - at this stage - still does not have Steam installed?
-
Almost impossible these days to play games without it.
-
hell, even *I* have Steam installed

It worries me that we are tied to something like Steam. I know it has its good aspects, but I really do feel vulnerable at times and somewhat object to the fact that you have no viable alternative. In some ways, its almost like being held to ransom.

Shhh... They're listening. :worried:

+1
I really don't want to digress into a debate on Steam. I use Steam when I have to. I prefer GOG. I have issues with DCS for much the same reasons. I simply don't like to have an internet connection to play a single player game. End of rant. You may now return to your regularly scheduled conversation.
