Still a great movie. We have it on DVD - tempted to watch it again now.

I finished watching it last week. It was the first time I ever watched it. Great series! I've been watching WWII movies for a couple of weeks now.

BB, then you would probably also like, "The Pacific". Another 10 part series about the 1st Marine Regt. in WWII. Very much like BoB and an excellent series.

The Pacific disappointed me as it didn't have nearly the character development that Band of Brothers did.

Totally agree with you. In theory, it should have been brilliant, but it fell well short of BoB.

Exactly. It wasn't that the characters were not engaging - and there WAS some character development - but it was all after the fact/through the series, and there was precious little of it. I had complete buy-in with the cast of BoB because they took us through training and we were able to 'bond' with them.

Again, fully agree. And Damian Lewis played a magnificent part.

I thought Pacific was equally good as BoB with some truly brutal combat scenes and action. It also followed the Marines home after the war to some extent which was great.  :peace:

I have watched The Pacific. For the most part I prefer Pacific stuff but BoB was the better of the two. But both were great overall.
