Basically. Yeah.

That's some damn fine recruiting, though.

I go to Flying Legends at Duxford every year - Covid permitting - and it's awesome.

Just for the record. I hate you for this.  :2funny:

We've twice been to the international air show at RAF Leuchars and seen LOTS of interesting aircraft. Also, in better times, we have the Sunderland Air show every year and we're on the flightpath for a lot of the aircraft since we are between the show area and Newcastle Airport, where some of the aircraft stay.. In 2019, the MiG 19 and Vampire flew together low over our house, much to my delight.

I don't know if you have access to these warbirds anytime - but they really are so stunning up close. They have a "flight path walk" where they are all lined up and you walk up and down in the morning before the show, just snapping beautiful pictures of them

We have a pretty good airshow here at Offutt Air Force Base. It is usually an annual affair but with Covid and much needed runway work it has been cancelled for the last couple of years.

They bring in a lot of aircraft of all types. I think it depends on the aircraft owner on how up close an personal you can get. Most of the active duty US aircraft are just THERE for you to walk up to and look at. The one exception was the F-117 when it was here. It was cordoned off and guarded. Some of the cargo planes are open and you can walk through the cargo deck.

Duxford is on my bucket list. I'd like to get to a Paris air show as well.

Thanks for sharing the pix!

One of my best friends was stationed there for his last assignment on active duty before he retired about 6-7 years ago.

Careful of that one on top Dredd. It's looks like it might bite.  :hehe:  We've had some great Air Shows here too close by but airfield that put them on went commercial and so most have moved on elsewhere. But we did have the B-17, B-24, P-51 and Spitfire. And once the BF-109. The old shows used to include the C5A and C-130's and you could crawl around in almost all of them. Great stuff.
