Kingmaker! My dad had a copy of that, which I held on to for years. I just sold it last year though - it was in pretty rough shape unfortunately. Plus it didn't seem solo-able, at least not easily.

BGIII is difficult for me. I keep finding myself getting in WAY over my party's heads and getting our arses handed to us. I just enjoy exploring!

This is the new version of Kingmaker. They've revised the rules to make victory conditions a bit easier (and thus the game shorter); there is also a solitaire version included.

Who is it published by these days?

Since when did you play board games?

Good sir, many moons ago when you were just a twinkle in your dads underwear i was engrossed in many a board game, namely blood royale, diplomacy, axis and allies, and a napoleonic one i can never remember

would loved to have had this too

weekends at my girlfriends parents (we were 16 at the time), who owned a hotel so there were many spare rooms to set the game up in, and a permanent resident who was the original lead guitarist for Spear of Destiny had the 3 of us playing many games for about 6 years before uni, jobs and life finally split the trio

Up on a saturday, go shopping for game snacks - namely a variety of cheeses to wrap in garlic sausage, salamis, breads, crisps and beer and spirits, watch a pirated copy of Jurassic Park for the 1000th time, paint some GW Man O War ships and then start the gaming around 7pm - absolute bliss

I know, I know. My wife will be in the midst of a 2-week work trip and I can't justify leaving my daughter that weekend. She is much of the reason I just retired from the Army!

I am sure Brant will go dig up the announcement in Tuesday's Newsday and excoriate you for not remembering it.

TTC retired? Welcome to the club!

Thanks all, but this is just the first retirement -- my retirement from the Army. I still have a few more years of work in me so that I can then game into the sunset...
