Cool!

Did he let you borrow it for the honeymoon trip? Seeing it fly along with a 'Just Married!' banner along the side and trailing a rope of old soup cans would be surreal...

I'm sure the Northumberland authorities would've loved us using that get around whilst on the honeymoon

This is an impressive bit of kit!

Q: Just ahead and to the left of the cockpit, is a pylon with some sort of moving vane on it. Can anyone explain what it is please? I notice that the Cobra also had one and there is one mounted on both engine nacelles of the AH-64. Is it something to do with aircraft attitude instrumentation?

Literally a weather vane according to a guy who works on them - speed and angle of wind indicator

Thanks, UCG. That seems amazingly low-tech  :o

That’s what I thought - next century killing machine - little spinny weather vane on the outside

‘What can we call it so we don’t have to say it’s a weather vane’ ?

HADS (Helicopter Air Data System), does sound much more sophisticated and satisfies those of us that are partial to a nice acronym. ;D
