ASSAULT - SICILY

The next game from ASSAULT GAMES will be based on the invasion of Sicily - 'Operation Husky'.

Wolfgang and his team are busy on the design of the maps (which includes some interesting new features) and a campaign.

However, we are stuck for a name, so y'all are invited to post up your idea's here for us to help produce a short-list. We will then conduct a poll to see which name gets the most votes.

I'll kick-off with my suggestion: 'Race to Messina'

You have until mid July to get your names in - so get cracking!

Well, Assault is a tactical level system so its likely that the game will be based around a dynamic campaign with linked scenarios. The idea is, as far as I'm aware, to include troops from all the armies involved.

So, the game scale is the same as the base game, and I'm sure you will have read all the stuff I've posted about Assault 41 Red Horizon.

The hope is to include units from all the nations that had troops in that campaign.

I've been pushing for Brit Commonwealth stuff since, with the exception of ASL, I can't think of any other similar scale game that includes such representation. Certainly Wolfgang and his team also favour this.

I would love to see the game system set in NW Europe and feature operations by Canadian 1st Army, and 21st Army Group, with emphasis on the battles for the Scheldt Estuary - Breskens Pockets, etc.
