Those were the same CPUs in the early-90s Mac LCs
Yup. The first Macs started with 68000s and pretty much upgraded to 020, 030, and 040s just like the Amigas. I recently acquired an LCII w/ 68030 (along with two 'classic' Macs) that I need to find time to set up and explore, never having used them much back in the day.
Interestingly, the 6502-based Apple II was so ubiquitous in schools that many wouldn't upgrade to the Mac until Apple developed an LC- compatible 'Apple II on a card' so the vast older software libraries which schools had accumulated would run on the newer Macs.
Maybe we should have a nerdy vintage computer/console thread to geek out in.
