Actually, that is a great idea because you have a good variety of surface textures to test out on.

That's the theory.  Everything I paint ends up looking like a dark blob when I'm done though.

I will be interested in reading more about your experience with the speed paints. If I had to guess and they are really more of an ink, they will have to be given a good amount of time to dry and set before trying to paint over.  Ink dries very slow and is super saturated with pigment which may explain your results if it is not fully dry.

People in various videos have noted that it will bleed through even a week after it was applied.  I think it will have to be the final layer placed on any work.

I honestly think the intent is block painting and living with the shadows/highlights you get on the first pass. Good enough at arms length quality. It really makes zenithal priming the most important step of the process.

However I am sure they will like washes become a great tool on the paint table.

The thread actually motivated me to work on my pile for a bit.

10 desert tanks down so far.  I'm happy with 9 of them but the Valentine I painted in SCC5 camo didn't come out very well at all.  Wish I'd gone with a 3 tone caunter camo pattern instead.  Oh well.

Nice. Always feels good to get models done. Hopefully, they see a gaming table soon.
